whats you opinion on them? yay or nay;
(for those who don't know a suicide knob is like taking a round door knob and attaching it to your steering wheel so you can put you free arm around your date)

back when power steering was unheard of, a suicide knob was the way to go. But they called them suicide knobs for a reason. They broke loose from the wheel a lot and you can guess the results if you were in a high speed turn when it came off in your hand. They may look good, but no way would I depend on em, or drive with only one hand on the wheel.

Yes they're, they've been banned for many years now. They have been standard within the 1950's and 60's since of the loss of energy steerage in such a lot automobiles, so that you can compensate brands made the steerage wheels larger and consequently made it less complicated to show the wheel, however this supposed extra wheel to show so the ones knobs made steerage faster. Why have been they banned? Because if you happen to ever hit a scale back and misplaced your grip at the knob, it could come all of the means round and holiday your wrist. However they aren't unlawful for forklifts, so if you happen to desire one simply cross on your closest forklift trader. Hope this is helping

Really no need for one if you have power steering. In fact, they may even be illegal in some states.
If you have power steering, you can still place an arm around your girl and steer your car, but keep in mind the front seat of your car is not a couch and the majority of your attention should be on driving and not scoring with your girlfriend (unless you are parked, that is!).

why not just steer with one arm. Plus if care at all about driving you should be driving a stick car and need both hands.

They were big when I was a kid. Mostly found on big rigs and tractors. They are said to be illegal in some states for cars today, but may be found on industrial equipment, show cars and used by some handicapped persons. There may also be problems with insurance companies if one is on a car involved in an accident. Check with your insurance company and state police before installing.

They make them legally for handicapped drivers (obviously not made from doorknobs). My husband has one that was easy to learn to use. I don't know the rules on getting one installed just for the fun of it, but I enjoy driving with one hand when I drive his car! Definatly yay if you need one or can get one legally!

They are also called knuckle busters. I think the reason is obvious. Some states make them illegal. Just think of the names for them and then ask yourself....... Do I really want one??????
