i bought a lint trap for my dryer and it looks like a sock with holes in it.where on my dryer would i put this?

lint traps like that are for washer hoses that go to the sink, for the dryer it should have one built in to it

Usually low down in the back of the dryer is a 4" pipe for vent air. Find a place between there and outside where it is exhausted that is easy to get to. You want to clean it about every 5 loads. Are you sure it doesn't already have one?
