It is an oppressive unworkable system. Hard work and risk taking is not rewarded. All incentive to excel is removed as all in the community will get equal shares of what the community produces.......

I think very few people have any concept of what communism really is.
Communism is an economical system that can be very successful is societies that think of themselves as one nation, and one people. It will never work in nations where people think as everyone else as their prey to be exploited, or their enemy to be out-competed, which is nearly all nations today.
Some economical systems try to mimic communism, but true communism is impossible to achieve, because the form of government that governs it is seldom democracy, and ends up being controlled by a dictator. Even the ones that do end up with a democratic government, the elected end up being set apart from the rest of the heard, feeling as if them and their friends should recieve extra privlileges, and essentially becoming "above the law", similar to how our politicians act in America. This is when all forms of government tend to start breaking down, only a dictator controlled communism falls faster, because their is no election to change leadership, thus slowing the decline.

A disaster in every respect. Perfect example is Cuba. Communism looks like a fantasy utopia on paper but in reality it sucks. Capitalism and democracy until something better comes along is the best in my book.

Generally I don't but lately China has put a bitter taste into my mouth. More specifically our willingness to trade with China to our own detriment. If you want to live in a state owned utopia, communism is for you. The idea is great, the practice never works.

Don't know - its never actually been tried out anywhere in the world yet - governments and rulers have chucked the word about a bit, but when you actually compare the theoretical model of a communist state, it doesn't really match any of the real world examples of communism.

it is a failed and flawed form of govt. it supposedly redistributes the wealth, but really, the corrupt govt has all the wealth. people won't strive to work harder or make new and better things because there is no benefit to it. people in communist govts strive for mediocracy.

Brilliant in theory, especially where it identifies the lies, abuses, and fallacies of capitalism. Since it's only ever been implemented in countries where the government was traditionally totalitarian, it never had a chance to show how it could work with democracy, especially when paranoiacs like Nixon and Reagan destroyed the results of free elections in Central and South America that didn't turn out in ways that suited them.
As for dictatorships, capitalism eventually leads to them, as democracy is exchanged for corporate-friendly fascism. Don't say we didn't warn you back in 1980 already, and again in 2000.

A reason to give up all hope and dreams.
Imagine not being rewarded for your hard work. making a Gov. wage equal to those that don't do their share. Never having a personal life you can enjoy.
Get what we give you and be happy for it!!!
That's communism.

Bad for everyone except the ruling class, which is the only one permitted by communism other than the proletariat (the slave class).
