3(6 + 5y) = 2(-5 + 4y)?

multiply 3 by what is in the first ( ) and 2 by what is in the second ( )

3(6) 3(5y) = 2(-5) 2(4y)

Solve above:
18 + 15y = -10 + 8 y

Now try to get all the y's on one side and the other numbers on the other

15y - 8y = -10 -18

Simplify above: 7y = -28

divide each side by 7

7y/7 cancels to 1y
-28/7 is -4

y=-4

3(6 + 5y) = 2(-5 +4y)
distribute 3 and 2
18 + 15 y = -10 + 8y
like terms should be in the same side, and y should be positive, so,
15 y -8 y = -10 -18
7 y = -28
y = -28 / 7
y = -4

3(6+5y)=2(-5+4y) you have to use the distrubutive property so 18+15y=-10+8y and than you have to get the variable to one side so 18+7y=-10 and again you have to isolate the variable so 7y=-28 and than you have to divide -28 by 7 to find the answer
y=-4

3(6 + 5y) = 2(-5 + 4y)
18 + 15y = -10 + 8y
28 = -7y
y = -4

3(6 + 5y) = 2(-5 + 4y)

18 + 15Y = -10 + 8Y
18 + 10 = 8Y - 15Y
28 = -7Y
Y = 28/(-7) = -4

reduce teh problem into simple terms you can work with
for 3(6 + 5y)
multiply 3 times 6 which = 18
next
multiply 3 times 5y which = 15y
do the same with the other half of the problem

multiply 2 times -5 which = -10
next
multiply 2 times 4y which = 8y
now you should have (18+15y)=(-10+8y)
now reduce this as follows
18+15y=-10+8y
-18........=-18
-------------------------
......15y=-28+8y
......-8y.=-28 -8y
-------------------------
........7y=-28
now
treat this as a fraction being -28/7y
reduce this to --------------->-4/1y
* note 1y is equal to y
in your case you would write you answer as -4=y (or) y=-4

add +5y and +4y since they are the same things. and subtract 6 and -5..when you get the answer for both of them then multiply them by 3 and 2...seperatly.

multiply the parenthesis

18+15y= -10+8y

28+15y=8y

28= -7y

(28/-7)=y

-4=y
