I think he's smart enough to have figured it out, but you still owe it to him to tell him. A lot of Asian adoptees face identity crises. If you have the chance, you should also try connecting him with his birth parents. For many, it's a renewed sense of identity and a way to have closure.

disgrace on you for mendacity on your son. interior the adoption community we now comprehend that it rather is risky to little ones to no longer tell them that they are accompanied, and we at the instant are taught to start telling them from a youthful age, make it a element of their lives, so that they continuously comprehend who they are. i'd initiate going to relatives scientific care and function the therapist help you injury the information. the faster the extra suitable, he's going to sense betrayed no rely once you do it.

Tell him one day before his birthday. At sixteen people are old enough to take things seriously , so he doesn't feel hurt, add a gift.I don't care what but ,don't make it crappy.I think its sad that he doesn't know, but it is better than lying. My parents joked around that i was adopted, i was young , i cried . your son he is old. He is mature he can take it. if he criers give him a hug and its better if your wife or someone is with you at the time tell him what happened ,and why you adopted him.Give him love. And good luck.

How did you think of that question? I mean, I've seen people ask some stupid (obviously fake) questions on here but wow... that must've taken some real brainstorming...
And the responses from the people thinking this is a real problem you are having is hilarious....
"About me: I'm just here to waste time and hopefully piss some people off while I'm at it"
You didn't piss me off... you actually gave me quite a giggle LoL

It seems like if he had been raised knowing that, knowing that he was special because was he was chosen, there would have been no great revelation. At this point, he may have some issues to deal with and may need lot of time to adjust.

By now, he should have a hunch that he's adopted seeing as the two of you are of different races. I'm surprised he haven't approached you yet but I think you should tell him now.

He probably already knows; I would tell him now, or when he turned 16.
