The Mrs Platypus that lives in the river at the bottom of my garden raises her children very well. No tantrums or talking back to their parents. They are a pleasure to have as neighbours. I wish the kids over the road were as well behaved.

That sounds like an interesting assignment. You can use Wikipedia, or some better resources, like this one:

http://animaldiversity.ummz.umich.edu/site/accounts/information/Ornithorhynchus_anatinus.html

Some points your report should include:
- how does mating and fertilization occur
- what is their reproductive mode (are they oviparous, viviparous...?)
- Where are the eggs *hint* laid and kept, and for how long
- what do the young look like
- what do they feed upon when they're very little (another hint: platypuses are mammals)

How about we put the Wiki entry up and YOU paraphrase it for your OWN assignment, 'kay?

At least do SOME of your own work. Geez.
