17 tampons in 15 hours is concidered excessive. I'd pay to
have test done. You may need the uterus scraped. It could
even be tumors or cysts or cancer. Find a doctor to get test done.

My mother and sister both went through this type pre-menopause heavy bleeding and clotting plus cramping and terrible back aches for quite a few years. My mother had a hysterectomy which is what they did years ago for this but the docs don't really do it so much for these symptoms anymore. Nothing really helped my sister's problems except using an NSAID for the pain. I'm hoping I won't go down this road, too, when the time comes. Good luck.

I just reread your information.
You need to have a uterine ultrasound done to check for fibroids. if you soak a tampon or pad every 45 minutes or more quickly than that, it is considered severe bleeding and you need to go in to see a doctor as soon as possible.
Do you have someone you can call or can take you to the emergency room. The bleeding is far too excessive and if it doesn't clear up shortly, you will need to see someone ASAP.

GO TO THE HOSPITAL NOW! My mother had the same problem, turned out she had a fibroid tumor on her uterus and she had to have laser surgery to block the blood flow to her uterus in order to shrink the tumor. YOU HAVE LOST A LOT OF BLOOD. My mom needed a blood transfusion!
