I totally hated these programs just to name a few: Alf, Night Court, All in the Family, Little House on the Prairie, Brady Bunch, White Shadow, Cagney and Lacey, Designing Women, Rockford Files, Joanie loves Chachi, Mister Roger's Neighborhood, Columbo, Cannon, Big Valley, Days of Our Lives, most Hannah-Barbera cartoons like Scooby-Doo, Hong-Kong Phooey and JabberJaw, ugh! (can I say that?)

I found a lot of westerns boring, but I enjoyed watching The Lone Ranger. I didn't care for the news at the time, but if I knew then what I know now, I'd have appreciated real journalism while we still had it, long before Faux News came along, ABC became a right-wing Disney-owned network, and CNN and MSNBC came along pretending to be just "liberal" enough to make the right-wing lie almost credible.
I used to enjoy The Twilight Zone, but after I was 21 and heard Rod Serling do commercials saying "LSD--will it turn you on or turn on you," I lost respect for the coolness I used to think he had!

COMBAT: I remember on the weekends my dad would lay on our living room floor and watch that show religiously. I wanted his attention one day so I guess i was about 4 years old, I walked up put my hands on my hips and told my dad there was going to be some new rules around our house! Now, my dad was a loving father and good to me but I guess that it hit him wrong and he passed that on to my hind end and sent me to my room. I never said there was going to be any new rules around our home again. I guess the depiction of war raises emotions in the smallest of people. The rule in our house was my parents were the ones in charge of thier home and I was the child.

QUEEN FOR A DAY was pretty depressing, but I watched it with a morbid fascination. It was actually one of the iconic shows of the 1950's, with it's "misery meter" and all the miserable looking contestants with their horrible sob stories. I have vivid memories of the show. I actually watched it alot.
