yup, unless if there are any new laws that came into existence within the last few years, bopols above got it right.

& regarding penalties, i am not really that sure, although i do believe that card members are just about at the mercy of card companies as regards to rates, penalties & fees.

I don't think there is any laws coveing them. If their was the interst rates would not be so sky high. Each bank has it's own rules and typical it's 3 to 4 percent monthly interest.

I did not evan look at late charges and other penalties. At that rate they can keep them.

No specific law. But if you don't pay your bills, and continue to evade the bank after serious collection efforts, you can be sued for estafa.
