Chinese intellectual theft is pretty vogue. I know a blog that chronicles many of them.

The basic idea of the problem is that the Chinese government isn't telling their businesses that it isn't okay to copy other businesses' products. This causes the research and development budget to be almost zero for Chinese rip-off brands. It also can cause unsafe, untested items to come to market - though that is a statement I'm not supporting with literature. Although most of these products aren't sold in the United States, they take a lot of international sales. Sucky.

If you are not interested in anything you might as well do it on something that you might find useful like what is involved in buying and owning a home.
