thank you for posting this we don't medicate but I used medicine on my eight year old when he was coming up so far not so much until he was about three and looking back I really don't see much more than the fact that they knock them out and prolong things if he starts to feel yucky vitaminc rest and fluids who would've thought I'm new to this whole natural approach to things but it's working and makes much more sense!! buying some good literature and reviewing natural methods is worth it!! orphan annie you're kids are fine that is a blessing!! but others are not so fortunate!I myself have had a bad reaction to medication and have seen many in my son and husband so many are not as fortunate it is not all the parents fault they are not removing cars and carseats because people don't use them correctly and kill with them unintentionally so that means they feel like they could be sued in the future thats an admission of guilt in my opinion!! they are scared to death they will loose their @ss!! what a pity that would be!! the drug companies are only looking out for themselves not our kids!! If they were looking out for our kids then why woudn't this stuff have been ''voluntarily'' removed a long time ago when the first 10 or so kids die! we as parents are far more intellegent than people think and if we trused our instincts a little more often things would be better..don't think for a minute doctors don't get promos or something for pushing bAby formula vaccinations and medications!! tylenol tylenol tylenol money money monet gimmie you're money and I'll tell you to take you're baby home and give them some tylenol!!

FLDS is NOT "a segment of the mormon church" There are no ties, no affiliations, no relationships, nothing. This is like saying that the Branch Davidians in Waco were Catholic because they used the Bible. Mormons DO NOT condone the behavior, practices, or religion of the FLDS. There are 13+ Million Mormons. There are fewer than 20,000 FLDS. These are VERY different churches. I don't know why you'd ask a question about FLDS, but then want the Pope's opinion on the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. MORMONS DO NOT PRACTICE POLYGAMY. MORMONS ARE NOT FLDS. Can I be any clearer???

Yes, to continue on what "orphan annie" said. PAY ATTTENTION to all information on the recall. Parents were carelessly giving the medications, but not the correct doses. I am 34 weeks pregnant and have a 19 month old son. He started to get a little bit of a cough, but it was accompanied by a runny nose, and a bad rash. After taking him to the dr we found it to be a "common cold". 2 days later I ended up with this nasty "common cold". Being pregnant, there are a limited number of things I could take. If you've ever been pregnant with a toddler, and have a cold, you'd take the medicines too. My husband was deployed and with the 2 of us being sick back at home with no help....we were both MISERABLE.
Here is an insert from the recall:
Some medications come in tiny droplet-size doses, but parents occasionally do not consult or follow directions from physicians, which can lead to an accidental overdose.
"Some parents will not follow the frequency directions on the box and will give a drug more often then they should," said Brenda Darling, who oversees pharmacy services in the emergency room of Children's Medical Center Dallas.
"It's very confusing when you have a sick baby, and you just want to do something to help him get better," said Ms. Darling, who also has a 21-month-old son. "I get confused, too, and I'm a pharmacist."

Yes, those deaths did happen, but, if people would listen it is a voluntary recall, because parents have overdosed their children under the age of 2. All three of my children have taken some sort of this medicine and they are all fine. As parents you have to be careful of how much you give them and the time that you have given to the kids.

Ive been preaching this on answers since it was created. Almost no one would listen to me.
I hope they do now.
Children and babies do NOT need medication for colds, flu, or any other kind of virus. And babies do NOT have nasal allergies, they dont have the receptors or functions for allergies until theyre nearly 3.
Its dangerous stuff.
And the same goes for pregnant women taking them. Its HORRIBLE for the unborn.

True that. My daughter has yet to have a cold, but when she does I'll be giving her a vapor bath, cuddling her, and keeping her little nose clear with her bulb!
No icky medicines!
