I think It would be pretty hard to sue a cop, but you could try. The guy is probably just all talk and won't do anything. He's just scaring you he things that it will work because he's an authority to you and he's a cop. Just because he's a cop doesn't mean that he'll get away with anything.
Don't you watch the news??? I live in Toronto, Ontario and I always see news stories about cops that are charged with crimes and they don't seem to get away with it.
Maybe you could do that go to the media. Find a lawyer i'm sure that they'll be interested.
Good Luck

I live in the US, and I'm pretty sure a cop can't make threats like that to anyone, especially ones that made you scared enough to move. I don't know if you can sue him though, but you probably can get in contact with with department he works for and talk to his supervisor or who ever is in charge and report him. Because there are such things as bad cops out there, that have no business being cops.

No you may not sue the police! They are immune from suit. However, you CAN file a complaint with them. You can also sue the cop himself. Go talk to an attorney.

first you have to make a formal complaint, trust me, he won't go near you because if he does he will be scrutinized, secondly call a lawyer and see about a restraining order.
