I have some useless music CD's that i want to use for storage.

Use the CD software that is installed on your computer to format.

But be advised, unless the CD's you want to format are CD-RW or CD+RW you can not format them.

CD-R or CD+R are "read only", once written to, they can not be changed, formated or written over.

rom means Read Only Memory. You can not write to it, therefore you can not format it.

you can only do that if your cd's are cd-rw, if not you cant reformat it...
