Isn't it annoying when a Ward Sister turns up and says "If he can get himself outside to smoke, he can get himself to the bathroom"?

Made me give up that did!

Well gee if you can walk there is probably a lot else you can do for your self as well, as a nurse I was taught that if the person was not in a coma that even with the very ill You washed "Down as far as POSSIBLE and Up as far as POSSIBLE" and let the person who was able wash "POSSIBLE" them selves. tis true that most people like to take care of "POSSIBLE" themselves.......
That having been clarified, if that trip down to the lobby and outside made you so tired you were no longer able to safely walk to the b-room, I certainly would help you. If I thought you were the most manipulative and annoying patient in the hospital you would never HEAR me say it. :)

I'm not a nurse ... I'm a carer and I've given hundreds of bed baths and showered men thousands of times (for some reason the men always want a shower) .... there's nothing glamorous about it at all.

If I was a nurse about to give you a bath, I'd handcuff your hands behind your head and tell you to lie back and enjoy.
