odd I wrote a poem about the moon..........
The Glow in the Darkness
Gossamer clouds shadow his face
still his outline you can faintly trace.
White as pure as the new fallen snow
is a proud vintage he loves to show.
Smiling always he looks down on the Earth
seeing happenings of love, death and birth.
The gentle giant watches as the Earth sleeps
a promise he made that he must keep.
To remain in the Heavens for all of Earth to see
the moon shining gently down for eternity.

Because it knows more than we how Dependant life on earth is on it. Earth with out a moon would be a whole different place just due to the tides and how they affect earth and the difference that would make to the way that we live our lives.
