Goldfish only lay eggs, so I seriously doubt it's a baby. It's more likely to be a parasite of some sort, possibly one called a fish louse (Argulus) - see photos: http://www.koicarp.net/koi_medication/images/argulus.jpg , http://www.mikrojezioro.met.pl/atlas_zw/okna/original/Argulus_foliaceus_ryb.jpg

You can kill these by dabbing them with antiparasitic medication, then pulling them off the fish with tweezers. Also, add Clout or an other antiparasitic medication to the tank to kill any eggs that may have been laid. From there, just keep the water quality good and keep an eye on the fish to check that it doesn't get an infection around the site of the bite.

Goldfish lay eggs. Fish rarely breed in small areas(suck as small aquariums). It's probably a parasite. My goldfish have baby goldfish every summer because I have a giant pond. And I used to have goldfish in aquariums and they never had babies and now I have too many baby gold fish!

goldfish lay eggs, so it's not a baby. maybe a fungus, or a parasite
