If hanging up on them before they barely get a few words out is rude, then I'm rude and that's when I actually pick up the phone, as I usually don't when not recognising the number or person calling.

You be the Judge. When I get a call from a telemarketer and he/she goes right into their spiel, I let them do it without interruption. When we come to the end, I usually say: "This is the City Morgue, may I help;p you?" I never hear from them again/

Well when I see a number that comes up no name..or no caller I never answer. But those that I do I tell them I am not interested or no time to listen.. so yes I am friendly but in a rude manner. I dont have time to listen to their spill.

I try to be as friendly as I can, I let them do their pitch and then I tell them I am not interested and say thank you this way I am not being rude

I always say hello when I answer the phone. Then, when I find out they want my money, I don't slam the phone down as it may break, I blow a whistle and then slam the phone down gently.

So, I'm friendly. Oh yeah-sometimes I ask them for their home number so I can call them during dinner.

I'm polite, don't want to be friendly or else I won't be able to get them off the line.
There's no point in being rude to them, they're just trying to earn a living.

Either way, depends on if they are catching me at dinner time. I think most of the time they are really pushy, 8 times out of 10 I will hang up on them.
