WD-40 works well. Spray it on and let it set for about five minutes and then wipe off.

You can buy a product called Bug and Tar Remover in the Auto Parts store. It is in a tall red can....and it works well when the tar is sort of fresh. I can't say how well it works if the tar has been there for a long while.
I hope I've helped.

a very small amount of kerosene on a rag will rub it right off,and will not harm the paint at all. i use it all the time and it has never hurt any paint,it will also help shine the paint some, but that's the same chemical that's found in bug and tar remover ,its just cheaper to buy a gallon of kerosene and keep it around for this ,good luck with it.

I have the same problem with my WHITE truck LOL. I live in the country and they put the tar down all the time and my truck get covered in the black tar dots.
I use a dab of varsol on a rag, it takes them right off the rinse with water. I have never had a problem with doing it this way.

an adhesive remover first, to soften the tar and prevent damage to the paint job, then take cold water, put it on a rag and wipe the the area with the tar until its gone.

Hope it helps!!!!
