You shouldn't be guilty. You should be comfortable and happy with yourself.
If this girl you feel really close with is as much of a friend as you think she is, then you should tell her. And with Halloween coming up it's easy. Ask her for help transforming you. And while she is helping you tell her how much more fun it is having the help than doing it alone
At that point she will won't to know more and you can explain everything to her including your sexuality.
But once again... be yourself!

Transvestism is an important part of your sexuality. If you really like someone and want to have a long term relationship then that is something they need to know. If they dont want to see you any more they are not true friends. Everyone knows about me and I have never had a bad reaction from a lady. Some guys go a bit quiet when they find out. Probably jealous

Not all crossdressers are gay.
And, despite what most straight people think, only about 5% of gay men dress up as women.
Don't feel guilty about it. But also don't tell people about it, especially if you are still in high school. I wouldn't even tell people if I were a college student.
I would save the information for any person, male or female, who you intend to have sex with in the future. It is no one else's business.

Tread carefully because once you say it there is no turning back. The Halloween idea is a way to sense how she might feel. And most crossdressers are not gay. Gender is totally different than sexual orientation!

There's no sense in feeling guilty about it; about 20% of men crossdress regularly. It's a harmless hobby.

Could the source of your guilt actually be your conscience?
As a Christian, I believe our conscience is God-given and His way of warning us of the dangers ahead, a warning sign if you will, just like pain is to our physical bodies.
I know a lot of godless people are gonna criticize me here and I'll get a lot of 'thumbs-down' votes for my post, but that's ok. I know what I'm talking about as I have struggled with crossdressing urges for 50+ years.
I wouldn't tell anyone about your urges unless it's one or both of your parents. I suggest them because (hopefully & prayerfully) they will love you just as much after knowing your 'secret' as they do now, and because of their love for you, they will seek the best answer to help you deal with your guilt.
DO NOT tell even your closest friend(s), for they do not have an investment in your well-being nearly strong enough to remain loyal & faithful to their friendship with you.
