By "human nature" i mean wanting what we lack and others have or wanting more than them if we are equal. Communism eliminates competition which gives everyone equal value, regardless of there ability. However, no one can be come that rich either.

Communism, well Marx's theory of Communism, would be a great form of government if human nature didn't get in the way. Everyone could be equal and what you lacked someone could make up for you. However, we live in a competitive world and to have communism everyone in the world, not just one country would have give up their competitive drive. One country couldn't achieve true Communism in the world today because of the competitive world drive to be the best and the fact the world is so connected. Also, if the world did lose it's competitive drive would we still make the progress on science, health care, education, etc, that we make today? Communism, like anarchy, is really good on paper but impossible for people to actually pull off because we are competitive, we are greedy and we do not want to admit our faults.

So long as its' voluntary it's fine. I was raised under a remnant of the original European cultures settling in North America. It was Quaker and Mennonite country before the Protestant Scots-Irish, Anglican English, Lutheran and Catholic Germans moved in. A century ago eastern and southern Europeans came. The original Calvinist and Anabaptist cultures had socialistic and some even communist communities. They were very stoic and austere people dedicated to the communities. They contributed all they could and didn't suck from it more than they needed. Some of the communist ones were established more than a century before Marx was born and lasted centuries. If you didn't like that kind of community you could leave and join another or start your own. Some took those options and still do. The family oriented cultures began flooding in a couple centuries ago. They are more inclined to take so much as they can for their families and contribute little more than they must. That's what you label "greed."

No. It is teh best inhuman nature that prevents communism from working, not some supposed flaw. That "humans jsut aren't good enough" is simply the proponants of communism attempting to blame the victim.
Communism is, by definition, a dictatorship. The individual loses all rights--not only political rigts, but the right to choose where to (or if) liive, work, go to school, etc. There is no market where a person can choose what to buy--that is decided by the dictators's underlings. If something is wrong, there is no right to object, to dissent.
There is nothing "good" about that. There is no "equality"--only subordination to the state--which means whoever is in power.
The advocates of communism invariably see themselves as being the ones holding the power--and their complaints about "humnan nature" boil down to objecting becasue the majority of people object to being enslaved.

If humans were robots who didn't care about working hard or had any ambitions? Certainly, communism would be great. But that's not true, and communism is a punishment for people with ambition or with a good work ethic. People are born equal, but they don't stay that way for long.

Communism is the opposite of a democratic capitalist state; and the later has its faults no doubt but it provides for far more control over human nature then communism does. Thus communism is not ideal - becuase you simply can't eliminate human nature.

Perhaps, but human nature is a pretty hefty element to leave out of the equation.

why is not "wanting more" something to strive for?
Sorry, but you're right. Human nature practically demands that we all try to improve and change, something communism finds antithetical

I suppose communism would definitely be ideal if it weren`t for the flaws of human nature.

That is how I often put it actually. People don't work nearly as hard for other people as they do themselves. If you make everybody equal, there is almost no incentive for people to work at all.

If it wasn't for human nature then government would not be necessary at all, and everything would be communist in nature
