If all came to worse, I'd rather die fighting then screaming while trapped as the killer came closer and closer to me.

That all depends on the house itself, really. Think about it. If you have one of those homes where it is not that far to get off the roof to the ground, then I would go to the roof and try to go down some way. I would go to the basement if I knew there was windows that I could get through or there was a basement door I can get out of, not unless the killer saw that and put a lock on it.
Also, maybe I would hide under the kitchen sink and hope that I can hear the killer going upstairs so that I can run like hell out of the house.
I would find someplace to hide if my life depended on it-because it would depend on it.

I would say it's best to hide near a window at the furthest corner of the house.. It's best to, to have some kind of distraction to throw the killer off. I bought a remote outlet-switch from radio-shack. You plug your lamp into it,then the switch into the wall outlet, then turn the lamp on... the power to the lamp is controlled through that switch. That way, when you hear the killer walking down the hall, you hit the switch.. The light comes on, and they're distracted and drawn back to the room the lamp is in.. This affords you the opportunity to jump out the window and run like hell.

I was going to say at your neighbor's house. Maybe in a closet, with a sawed-off shotgun trained on the door...? If someone is just after "stuff", you'll be safe enough hiding where "stuff" wouldn't be, like a shower, or a low kitchen cabinet. If it's a killer out to get you though, and they know you are home, you are so out of luck.

I liked this question. It made me think. Hopefully no nightmares tonight. LOL Stars all around.

Don't get into this situation. At night lock ur room and turn off the lights in the living room, this way the theif will make noise in the dark. Keep a phone in ur room, a bat under the bed...and sleep with ur car keys that way if u hear something out side u can press the alarm and the theif or rapist will run.

It would depend on where in the house the killer was. The best thing to do would be to try to exit the house but if you had to hide, anywhere in the house would do if it was the only place available. You choose the best place "under the circumstances".

i agree with you. you would probly be dead. so would i. my house seems like yours. except we have these big draws in our kitchen that we keep plastic containers in. they are about the size of coffins. somedays when no one puts stuff away, they are pretty empty so maybe i could hide in there? lets just hope the killers come on a day when my mum has been baking lots, and lots, and used all of the tupperware. you on the other hand would have to take the chance and make a run for it. but lets be real. how often (other than on movies) are there killers in your house?

The best thing to do is find another exit and get out of the house. If you are going to hide they are probably going to find you sooner or later but I would try the old hide behind the shower curtain trick maybe.

The best place is where the killer cannot find you. Actually your question is a good one and we should all have a few places in mind, just in case the worst really does happen.

I could hide in one of my closets...but isn't that the logical place for someone to look if they are after you? Trying to get out of the house would be top priority.
