I'm currently using a MacBook to type this :D

MacBooks are loaded with an intel processor, this means you'll be able to install Windows XP/Vista with the new program coming with Leopard, the new OS at the end of the month. So the no games mac sucks excuse is obsolete now.

Now if you get a PC your more vulnrable to viruses, Trojans, Worms etc.

Keep in mind if you do get a Mac and run Windows on it, you can still be affected by viruses. So if your surfing the net, you can just switch it to Mac OS X. and if you want to play a game, you can just as easily switch to windows.

alright well, idont know how much you know between the two but ill write it anways

Pros
1) Macs do not get viruses as much as PCs. They say Mac doesn't but there is still instances that it could

2) If you compare Vista and Mac OS X Tiger..
Tiger kicks Vista's ***, not to mention Apple is coming out with a new one (Leopard)

3) There's a few others but that's the main ones i believe
Besides the fact OS X is alot easier to use and has alot more fun inside it programwise

Cons

1) Programs sometimes are not available for Mac, i mean this by college programs.. but, Macs can now run Windows on a Mac with Bootcamp or Parallels, so this is kind of a Pro lol

2) Some people have been subject to messed up macbooks
im not sure if it excludes Macbook or Macbook Pro
but heat and noise is a quite frequent complaint
(i havent had any)

3) Price, if you don't have exactly that kind of money to spend, don't go Mac.
Macs arent that expensive but they're a couple hundred more
(also take into consideration alerations and models)

to me, Pros outmeasure the Cons by a s**tload..

so i would say Mac if you got the $$$

MacBooks will serve you better in the long run. PCs break down easily and they have so many viruses associated with them.

Here are some advantages to getting a Mac over a PC:

1. Great design
2. OS is unmatched
3. No virus can get in; safer surfing.
4. It can run windows if you want.
5. It stands out; people will be like, "Ohh...cool Mac!" with a PC, they're like, "Its just another computer running some OS."
6. Macs have class; PCs don't.

There are also a few disadvantages to getting a Mac:

1. Price (because Macs awesome like that.)

And thats pretty much it; you can buy security things for it so it doesn't get jacked.

Macbook.

I have used computers of all varieties for almost 25 years. Friends and relatives often call on me for computer help and to recommend a computer to them. I say get a mac, because it's ergonomically designed for the human brain and if they get the mac, they will be much less likely to call me for computer help later.

Good Luck.
