Derek Jeter is my captain....he plays a big role...in the success of the team...as a veteran...and a teacher to the rookies....another good captain could be Jorge Posada another good veteran of the team...that could take charge of the ball game with charisma...hope this helps....

Jason Varitek without whom the Red Sox would never be where they are today! Last year when Tek got injured, the Sox went down the tubes so fast and ended up in 3rd place! He may not be terrific offensively but, any hits he does get is just bonus material as far as I am concerned!
