Laptop Gets Hot

It is very common for a laptop to get really hot on the bottom of it, thats not a big deal. the fan speeds up to try to reduce the heat so any excessive heat will make the fan speed up. Try placing your laptop in a different place. If you have the laptop in a hot room, or if you set you laptop on something that may easily heat up, then it will cause your computer to get hotter than normal. If that does not work, get someone to make sure your computer isnt just having problems with overheating as some computers overheat more than others or if something is wrong with your fan than it will overheat more even when it sounds like it is speeding up. If all else fails or if you dont want to spend the money having your computer fixed, go to a computer store and buy a "cool mat". Its a mat that cools down your computer when you place it on it and will keep your computer from overheating or getting TOO hot.

The sound like it's on overdrive may be the CD Drive, if not, try placing the laptop on a table for a few minutes, if it's on your lap, a blanket or some other material it might not be getting enough ventilation.

Oh, and if the battery is a Sony lithium-ion battery, manufactured sometime in 2006, I'd watch out for fires and explosions.

In short, keep it on a desk, a tray, or some other flat hard surface so the little feet can prop it up, and the fans can suck some air in.

My son's did that. Is it an ACER by chance? After trying unsuccessfully to deal with the company and the store where it was purchased, I gave up and got him a laptop instead.

Turns out his laptop was under recall for a faulty battery that with other people had started fires. Not sure if it's the same thing with yours. Take it to a fix it guy (like Geek Squad at Best Buy) or something.

Your laptop is beginning to overheat. An easy quick-fix is to prop it up on something so that a good deal of the bottom is not touching anything--think of maybe sticking a book under the left and right sides, and leaving the middle clear.

Another way is to buy a cooling fan to attach to the bottom. They aren't cheap, but they help.

It is important to keep your computer from overheating, because it will, at the very least, shut itself down and you will lose your work. At worst, it could fry the hard drive.

I have dissasembled my laptop a couple of times to fix it. I cleaned out the fans, everything piece by piece. What i might of did wrong is when i removed everything, i also dropped the heatsink/thermal on the floor so it might affected the cooling paste, since my laptop shuts down every 2 minutes. It might be like a metal-to-metal heatsink, and everything just melts like a toaster. Also, i need to know where the thermal sensor is really located on the motherboard so i can just take it off since it is really driving me crazy! Maybe then that would help since it won't have any stupid sensors to trigger the shut-down. Any knowledge where on the board it is located at?

My laptop does that too usually I think its the hardrive getting really hot. I usually have one of those laptop fans and I put it on there to cool if off while I'm working.

I dont have a fujitsu, but i have a dell and it HEATS UP A LOT, if your main area of heat is near the cooling fan then that means your cooling fan is not doing the job. I would reccomend if possible to clean out the cooling fan or buy a cooling pad from any electronic store such as best buy or circuit city- not expensive and help cool the laptop.
