I know there was a lot of the 'drugs, sex, and rock and roll', but what about the LEGAL activities? I know roller disco was big, but were there a lot of cars or was everyone into walking/biking/taking public transport everywhere?

How big were drive in theatres, fishing, skateboarding, yoga, hanggliding, stuff like that? What did kids do for fun in the 1970's? What about schooling? Did a lot of kids want to go to college/university? was it open to both men and women?

Any help on education and activities during the 1970's would be appreciated, thanks! :)

as far as education that was the time that women's rights became a big national debate. Education, There were as many women as men by the late 70's People were not that different than they are now , This was 30 years ago, not 300. This was the peak of the sexual revolution, which was dampened in the early 80's That was the time of muscle cars then the smog engines came at less than half the power.and cost twice as much.

It was an exciting and scary time. I graduated in 1973 and one of our classmates went into something called computers. Wow if we only knew.No cell phones, computers Internet, microwaves. none Of this. Home cooked meals. Homework not done on calculates.Typewriters with ribbons, and carbon copies.Men were expected to be men. Women were expected to be married and housewife's there forth. In your early 20ies you were expected to mature and not play. ie roller disco skateboarding ect.
Education was important but not pushed on many people. In one day I applied for 6 jobs and got all 6. All my friends drove ,walking was looked down on.
There were 3 distinct periods in the 1970 era. 1 was post 1960 hippie. 2nd was more or less lost. 3rd was disco era
I grew up in Wisconsin in a town of 50 people and went to school in a town of 4000 people. In this era it was the richest community in Wisconsin per capita. The town I lived in was extremely poor and on the outskirts.
