we want to drive along some river... from Frankfurt/Wiesebaden to Paris (well, as much as posssible). Please suggest any scenic route.

I don't have any particular river in mind.. asking, just in case there is one!

Drive along the Rhine from Wiesbaden to Koblenz, then up the Moselle to Nancy. From there a short trip along the Marne-Rhine-Canal is necessary, until you reach St. Dizier or Chalons. Then you can follow the Marne to Paris.
It's a very scenic route through river valleys; you will pass through Palatinate, Lorraine, and Champagne along highly frequented inland waterways. Only to make that journey by ship would be more pleasant than on the road.
