I really hope this mess ends up helping a playoff system become a reality. I highly doubt OSU will lose. If LSU doesn't beat Auburn or loses in the SEC championship, then I don't think they'll be able to get into the national championship. That leaves OU with a chance and of course BC and USF. And then if Michigan upsets OSU, what would we have? BC versuses USF!? I almost hope that something ridiculous like that does happen so that everyone, especially the SEC, flips out and starts actively pursuing a playoff system.

There is still alot of football left to be played. That being said, I'm starting to get a little concerned. OSU still has to finish out the rest of their conference schedule so they could lose. USF has the dream schedule for the dream season. They don't play anyone the rest of the season and it seems the voters have lost their minds. The only good I can see is the college presidents getting so upset with a mid-major making the championship that they finally vote in favor of the sport instead of the dollar. I hate the BCS, but I would have a hard time saying no to $15 million too.

This is the biggest mess I've ever seen the BCS in. This must be the last year that this thing plays out. A playoff system is needed and badly so. I mean who honestly wants to see BC vs USF or even Ohio State in the championship game after beating no one good and their conference is sorely lacking good teams. If this doesn't happen soon look for the major conferences to boycott the BCS to make this happen. It will take a couple of years but it will happen sooner or later.

I don't see any really big upsets happening for the rest of the year(App. State def. Michigan, Stanford def. USC). Of course, the way this season is going, who knows. As far as how it will affect the BCS(which btw is a joke), right now Ohio State and USF are the #1 and #2 teams, meaning if everything goes the way it should and it stays this way until the end of the season, they'll play for the title.

What's probably going to end up happening is two teams that no one seriously expected to end up in the BCS title game will be there. For example, no one wanted to give Ohio State props all season or talk about them as a possibility until all the other teams that people thought were sure contenders fell one by one...and we're talking a *lot* of teams that had to fall for OSU to even be taken seriously--Michigan, Florida, USC, Oklahoma...then LSU, California and Wisconsin even...and even in their own conference it took Wisconsin, Penn State and Michigan going down before people would talk about OSU to win the Big 10. Now they look for sure like they are going to the title game, unless the season of upsets turns out yet another miracle and my Michigan ends up beating them.
As far as the second team, I seriously doubt it's going to be USF or Boston College. I do think they will lose to somebody, or the pollsters will jump Oklahoma and/or LSU ahead of them eventually. Those teams, just like Cal was, are where they are simply because everybody else lost. I don't think USC or Florida are going to be able to get their chances back...and they can, in fact, lose to at least one other team they have left on their schedules--I predict it will happen, especially to USC. I think Oklahoma, LSU and even South Carolina are the best bets left to compete against OSU--or, if a miracle happens, against each other--in the title game. My prediction was the title game would come down to LSU and OSU, with OSU losing again but not as embarrassingly as they lost to Florida, and that still could hold true. And I think that would be the correct outcome, personally.

Ohio State vs USF what a total EMBARRASSMENT that will be to collegiate sports if that crap happens (and it probably will USF isn't playing anyone decent the rest of the way). That will be way worse than undeserving Boisie State playing Oklahoma (why hasn't stoops been fired yet???) in a BCS bowl game.
Sara Beth its your own chancellor at OSU that KILLED any and all playoff hopes. Read about it......

I beleive it will turn out to be two teams with one loss in the big game. The strength of schedule should keep USF out. If BC wins out they may get in. This year should spell the demise of the BCS i hope. BC will lose to VT this week though.

The one word that has personified the BCS for most of it's existence- Controversy. That will be the outcome of this season. Until the NCAA institutes a playoff system, Controversy will always be associated with it.
