I mean I'm trying to tell them that the bigger the aquarium the easier it is to take care of. Even some of my parents friends who have had there own fish shops for over 30 years say that the best way to go. The tank I want to buy is 36"x15"x24". And I have 2 small aquariums and I have fish that are about to have fry. Help!!! Experts only.

And yes it will fit my room. My room is big and I have a 3 gallon and a 1 gallon tank and they are a pain to work with. Getting a bigger tank will help I have had a 20 gallon but it broke at the bottom and so I already had these other tanks so I just use them till I'm able to get my fish tank.

lady, ive been goin for the same thing for 10 months now and ill tell you how you do it tell them youll pay for everything (presumed you already did...i hope) and tell them youl make a deal or something my deal is i care for 2 10 gallons (1 goldfish- the otherone has 3 guppies and 3 cories ) a 20 gallon tall (4 rasboras 2 danios and a clown pleco) a 2.5 gallon(dwarf puffer habitat to be im cycling with danio from the 20 gallon ) 3 fish bowls all 2 gallon (Bettas exept for the 1 with the dp the other betta is now happily in the 20 gallon)

anyway you say that youl take care of 1 10 gallon for a year (no matter what you will drag in more tanks) and then make somethin up like then after a year and ive proven that i can handle a bigger tank and its cost can i pweeeeeeeeeeese(the sucking up begging part is verry important) get a 56 gallon

thats my deal gotta be honest dident think i would find someone in my shoes only 10 months back (oh yea and im sneaking a goldfish pond in with my mom behind my dads back :))))))))

I've had a five gallon aquarium and it was a royal pain! I now have a 55 gallon aquarium, and some of the fish are 7 years old! It is much easier to maintain, though the filters may be a little more expensive.
However, something to consider is space. Also your parents may be worried if that thing breaks because with many insurance policies, the damage from all that water escaping will be your responsibility.

first will it fit and there is alot of equipment you will need just because it is bigger does not mean it does not still need to be vaccumed and chemically maintained also you need a lot bigger filter and everything else if you have the money yes it is easier just be sure this is what you really want i grew up with a 50 gallon tank in my house and i am now 45 and still have a large tank myself. i would not part with my fish ang good luck hope you get the tank!

That is hard. Maybe if u show that u are mature enough you can handle that aqaurium. You could tell them (if u have enough money) that u will pay half for it. Try 2 show more maturity and help around the house a little bit. That might show them that you are capable of getting a 56 gallon aquarium. Good Luck. Hope I helped :)

Your particular fish can't be nicely cared for in a 20 gallon setup. in case you rather need to come back into fish it is great yet this could be a bad thank you to do it and could hate for it to steer on your loss of pastime later.

56 gallon? wow. thats big. If you are going to pay for it then just let your parents understand that its what you really want. now, if they are going to pay for it..i would agree witht them..its most likely very costly

what you need to do is improve your grades or do something to make money your self. if they do have fry then use that as black mail.<><
