Do I need to use metal corner beading on an inside corner where the wall meets another wall or where the wall meets the ceiling? If not, do I just use the usual mud and tape?

The first 3 answers are valid; though Vinyl molding is now as acceptable. CERTAINLY you might use it if in fact you have a gap large enough in BUTTING the joint; but that shouldn't happen anyway; even with walls out of plumb/square. No matter; you'd still have to feather and sand the MUD to flush. It isn't a standard practice however. I do suggest/ and use; the mildly adhesive backed MESH drywall tape for any of my applications over a lifetime of HANGING and finishing.

when hanging drywayy the inside conners and the ceiling you use mud and tape and in dooor jams you will use the metal conner peices always use drywall screws .and also before hanging dryway no matter what room make sure you check for mold and also use the porper insulation and vapor barrior befor closing it up. and when getting ready to paint sand the joints really good till smooth then use a primer before you paint

corner bead(metal) is made for outside corners only.
Use tape on all inside corners and at ceiling/wall.

If you want it to look right call a pro. Plaster would be the best bet unless the curve is very shallow. If the plaster is in good sape use spray in insulation like mentioned above.
