OMG you need to visit Blandford, Dorset! The pedestrians just do not acknowledge that they belong on a pavement and a car actually has the right of way on the road in town!.......seriously there are mega traffic jams all caused by pedestrians jsut stepping out everywhere.

Human nature. People for some reason like walking in the streets instead of the sidewalk. it has something to do with reverse physcology. People all their lives were probably told by their parents not to walk in the street, so they just do it now.

I seen some teenagers do it sometimes. I think they are trying to appear cool, like they are rebelling against walking on the pavement and trying show they are not scared of cars. I've seen some joggers do it I think they do it because it is an easier surface to jog on.

If there is not much traffic, it would be easier then a sidewalk. The city gives us sidewalks to walk on, and then puts all sorts of obstacles in the way!
