That does not work. It just gives you diarrhea. You should let the baby come when its ready.

Ok, there are PLENTY of old wives tales about inducing labor. Now at this point I wouldn't try ANYTHING. Babies will come when its time. At 30 weeks your baby could have serious problems. Now. Castor oil is the number one old wives tale. I tried it with my first and it only caused massive horrible bowel problems. Now, once you hit the 37 week mark feel free to try some things. Raspberry tea is a nice way, but the NUMBER ONE thing I suggest is sex. Lots of it. Sperm acts as a cervix ripener. I don't know if it was just a coincidence or not, but 2 of my 4 children came the day after I had sex. Of course it would mean having your partner ejaculate in you, so I'm HOPING your still with the babies father. LOL. Its not like you could get any more pregnant. LOL. I wish you luck and a smooth delivery. Hugs and Belly Rubs!!

DO NOT try and induce your baby at 30 weeks. You do not want a baby coming that early. The baby will come when its ready to come. And if your body is not ready to have the baby, nothing will work. The only way to induce labor is if you go into the hospital and have them induce you. And even then, you don't want an induced labor. Nor will any hospital or doctor ever induce you at 30 weeks. That is far too soon.
If this is your first baby, you are probably going to be late. And even then only 5 percent of babies are born on their due dates.

No! There is no method as far as drinking/eating certain things that can bring on labor effectively AND safely. Those that might actually work only work because they want to force your body to miscarry, and generally what happens is the baby is damaged severely, and sometimes results in a still-birth.
An induction from a doctor in the hospital is far safer and more effective.
Other things you may want to try, much later in your pregnancy [your baby isn't ready to be born until 36 weeks, at the earliest. Prior to that your child really needs to stay in the womb if at all possible] are walking [you can walk now, but they say that exercise can help bring on labor when closer to the due date], sex, nipple stimulation, etc.
The best thing to do is to simply wait for nature to take its course. That route is always safest and best for your baby. Talk to your doctor. And stay away from that castor oil.

These other women are right DO NOT try to use home remedies before 36 wks. Your baby is not fully developed. He or she can be born with serious complications. Also Castro Oil only gives you serious bubble guts and the squirts and can harm your baby. After 36 wks if you still want to induce labor try Tarzan sex. (Is what my doctor called it. Crazy kind) The other women are right, it naturally induces. I was ready to get my baby out so I told my husband to do what the doctor said. But I had contractions all night and @ 6 am I went into labor.

DON'T DO IT!

My sister made me drink castor oil mixed with orange and pineapple juice when I was a couple of days overdue with my first son. All it did was make me violently ill...vomiting AND diarrhea for almost 2 days. When I finally had my son naturally 8 days later....he had pooed inside me and the doctors said that the castor oil had put him inot distress and that is why he had done this. Apparently it can make them very ill if they swallow their poo so I was very lucky he hadn't!
Apparently it is supposed to work by making your bowel spasm...and boy does it spasm!...which is supposed to stimulate your uterus into contracting. I firmly believe that the only time it seems castor oil 'works' is if you are about to go into labour anyway. Then it is all a big coincidence! And who wants to deal with diarrhea and bowel spasms when your are in labour? Labour pains are bad enough and I never want to squirt my doctor or anyone else with diarrhea when I am giving birth!!!!!
To this day, (13 years later), I can still remember the taste of the castor oil and can't wear certain a tropical flavour lip balm as it is EXACTLY the taste of the concoction my sister made me drink!
I say again....DON'T DO IT!!!

My sister tried it late in her pregnancy & it did not work, all it did was cause her to have the runny craps for two days. You should never try to induce labor too early - your baby is still growing & the best place for him is in your womb. Don't try to induce your labor before 36 wks the earliest - 38 wks or further along would be best. Dealing with being pregnant is much easier & safer than dealing with a preterm or unhealthy baby.

i wouldn't try anything until 38 weeks to be sure the baby is properly developed. The baby will come out when it's ready. All i've heard is that castor oil gives you stomach cramps and the runs. I wouldn't want to deal with that!

no it doesnt work and you don't want to be inducing yourself anyways ESPECIALLY AT 30 Weeks!!!!! All the Castor oil will do is give you massive diarrhea..... that baby wont come until its ready you shouldn't rush it....it needs all the time in the womb it can get to properly develop!
