This guy (592 Feedback, 99.7%) won one of my items, and it turns out he lives by my school. Is it against eBay policy to refund shipping charges (he already paid in full), and offer to just drive over there and drop off the package myself? Or is it possible that he can screw me over since there's no shipping confirmation? I haven't asked him yet

I think the safe, professional, and intelligent thing would be to stick the package in the mail. Yes, the guy may live close to you, but what if he decides he wants to return the item and thinks he can harass you. You really can't trust a person based on their ebay rating.

I think you should chalk the customer's proximity up to a curiosity and forget about it. The last thing any individual seller wants is a customer knowing where they live at work (or in your case, go to school).

If you decide to go the the person's house, please let someone know exactly where you are going.

i think it's best to drive there and give the item to him and give the shipping fees back to him. the customer will be happy, and it's actually okay and legal according to ebay policies. but when YOUR selling the item, isnt the customer supposed to pick up your item at YOUR house? i mean, the other way around is good too.

I'd call him and ask if he want's it dropped off in person, to avoid the whole shipping thing and give back the shipping charges.

After you are paid in full, there is nothing stopping you from handing him some money when you deliver.
