Is mankind mentally mature/ ready for for a ''Real First Contact'' from beyond earth?

I was wondering if mankind is really ready for a ''Real First Contact'' from beyond the earth and our solar system.I have discovered a way to make warp drive and get first contact,but is mankind really ready and if so who do I get in contact with to tell them my discoveries?

what is so special about aliens contact? todays human beings can be ready for anything?

I really get enormously surprised when read such questions?? what is so special about aliens visiting or encounters?? we have seen all sorts of movies dealing with aliens. Our technology has so advanced we could imagine anything today ( although may not accomplish it ).

What is so special about aliens visit??????

Everyday an ordinary human being undergoes so much mental trauma and agony, still they cope up with it. An alien encounter is nothing actually. Everybody will be excited, of course, but what is so special about it? what maturity has to do?? we are planning to visit other planets, we are sending signals in all directions of Universe; so why are we not prepared for alien encounters.

Todays men can put up with their wives having affairs with other men; todays women can put up with similar things and so may other mental traumas, so what is so special about some aliens visiting us??

I agree, if the questions is " are we confident to face aliens? " that makes sense. We do not know how dangerous and advanced they are, so there is always a risk to visit with them. That is fear and understandable. but what else? no other problems.

People deal with the death of their closest relatives; is this alien visit is more emotional than that???? couples divorce, they find out affairs, people get diagnosed with serious medical problems; what is this alien contact so special????

If you found out a warp method bring them here. Make sure that they are not dangerous to us. Leave the rest to us. We have to encounter much more serious issues in day to day life here in earth; so an alien contact is a joke, nothing more that. Only imbeciles, weak people will make an issue of alien contact with maturity and other issues. Majority of human beings are not imbeciles or weak and definitelt they will be excited to see aliens ( provided they are not dangerous ).

I can imagine that it would be the story of all time. There would no doubt be a lot of groups perhaps religious that would not believe the story of contact and will want to claim a hoax and will be unable to be convinced. I believe the rest of society would first wonder first if this other civilization constitutes a treat and secondly what's in it for us. I believe a big part of the fascination that people have with contacts from other worlds is what technology can we learn from them. I suspect that if when contact is established communications could take time and the time lag will leave the door open for all kinds of speculation about what this new unforeseen future holds.

Personally I think they're out there but the creator made the universe so vast as to make actual contact impossible or extremely improbable.

EDIT: You must have been watching STAR TREK FIRST CONTACT today on SCI/FI network. Is that a good movie or what? The best STAR TREK movie in my opinion.

no, if we are the ones with warp, then chances are we are not ready, but if they come to us with warp, we will listen as the whole race, including the military will be in aw and submissive so we can prove we could yield the power. that kind of change in additude will change the way society thinks.

we are already trying to make first contact with bacteria on mars........ if it exists.
so yes, we are ready.......................... to talk to bacteria.

No, even if you travel to multiple other solar systems you are not guarantied a first contact.
If you have establishment credentials they will listen, if not nobody is going to pay attention until you build it.
