I have used a ring sling with my youngest(91/2 months) and I ADORE it! I tried a pouch and wrap as well, but was never very comfortable in them. I prefer the unpadded version. I still wear my son everywhere, he actually just slept all through church today comfortably snuggled up to me in it. They are so versatile and distribute weight so well. I actually got it last October when I was 7 months pregnant, and was able to comfortably carry my 35lb 18 month old(at the time), who was sleeping, for over an hour without hurting my back, neck, or shoulders at all!

I also had a boppy for both of my sons. While they are great, you can't exactly walk around and shop holding onto it while nursing. That was the greatest thing with my sling; I was able to go out, do grocery shopping, etc, and when my son was hungry I just helped him to latch on and was able to go on my merry way; using both hands to shop and push the cart.

i also have a zolo and love it. chances are you will be using the sling to nurse at different times than you would be using a boppy. slings are great for nursing in public. i am sure you don't want to carry a boppy to the mall ;-)

here is an option for inexpensive slings www.etsy.com

also, you could check and see if there is a NINO chapter in your area. thet are a good resource---

This site has GREAT slings for nursing hands-free! I bought 2 already! Good prices and hands-free nursing is SO convenient!

EDIT: I have a Boppy pillow, but my daughter doesn't lay on it comfortably enough to nurse. I just use a regular pillow for that. I use the Boppy for her to sit up in.

I have a ring sling and I LOVE it. When my girl was little i could nurse her handsfree walking down the street or in a store and nobody could tell. I used it everyday for months. Now she is almost 20 lbs and i still carry her in it.

zolowear has a good website about carriers

i have to agree with the poster above that the boppy pillows are your best bet....slings can be a pain espically when the baby is latching on...if you are looking for one to carry the baby in i recommend the snugli carrier

my daughter had one of those and it just didnt work for her to breastfeed with it. boppy pillows are the best and I got a pattern and made her several and she swears by them.
