I'm applying for governor's school for the arts (a month-long summer program) and my audition tape requires monologue from a published play, no more than five minutes long. I'd prefer to shy away from the typical ho-hum monologues and ones about love...

and it has to be from a published play.

please help??

failed to tell us your age, makes it hard.
read Picnic by Wm Inge, read The Bad Seed by Maxwell Anderson, read other plays, make a monologue out of a good dialogue scene by running one character's speeches all together eliminating the replies by the other character and reference to them..
