Actually, I think, we can.

I think, we must seek for ourselves to be kinder than we are now. This way death will be defeated.

it is impossible to think we can defeat death.
it is the natural end of al humans.
but we can try to enjoy every minute in our lives so that when the end comes we dont regret not Living our lives.
the motto we can follow is :
live as if you will exist forever , and as if you will die the next day.
when death comes we must greet it as an end of our earthly existence and the beginning of a new life .

Death is not an opponent. It is a result. In fact, there is no such thing as "death". It is merely a descriptive word for what happens when something stops living.

We humans can only think in terms of life. We are born and live. We are aware during this time and can contemplate and consider our existence. We label things and try to figure out all sorts of things that otherwise make no sense to us. Then, quite suddenly, we stop living. We have no choice about this.

But, it is our genetic yearning to search for longer life. And so we research for ways to extend our lives. Perhaps we will evolve to the point where we will live a extremely long time. Yet consider that even our universe may not be infinite. If that is indeed the case then eternal life, as the human mind might understand it, is impossible.

Therefore, death, in any way you look at it, cannot be beaten.

In seeking to defeat death, you are betraying life. Everything has a season in which their beauty can be enjoyed, and it is the fact that that season is finite that makes it so precious, so beautiful. An infinite life makes living a thing, something that is, and denies it its magic. Death at the end of a long, productive life is not a bad thing; but, it is understandable that you don't see it that way while you are still young and experiencing life for the first time.

Why would you defeat that which is just another natural part of life?

Everything that lives eventually dies - it's the nature of temporary life on this planet.

Have you seen an 80 year old, crippled with Arthritis and Diabetes? For some who suffer to the end, death is a natural mercy to end their suffering.

So don't mourn the fact that death exists - if it didn't exist, we'd still have Stalin and Hitler with us!

We can't defeat our physical death, but it is our spiritual soul that lives on within the lives we have touched, and in the living of the beyond.

It depends on what you consider death to be...if it is the death of your physical body...then no there is no way to defeat it.

But if the idea of you is never dead, you can achieve immortality thru your work or something of the nature.

You can't. The only thing you can do is live life to the fullest and hope by the time your number is up, you have gotten the most out of life and don't regret anything. A famous quote to live by:
"I love challenges, I face them everyday, when you run out, perhaps it's time to die". Face something new everyday, and make you life worthwhile.

I agree with you, to live here on this earth, or to prolong our life in this form as we now know it, KINDNESS would be a great start....
It is my belief though, that "WE HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE"
"THAT WE DO NOT DIE EVER." WE MERELY CHANGE FORM." I BELIEVE IT IS A MATTER OF HOW OPEN AND AWARE A PERSON ALLOWS THEIR MIND TO BECOME THAT WHICH DETERMINES THE EVOLUTION OF THAT ONES BEING. we are all mind body spirit.
