M*A*S*H*

For it's quality content, great acting, witty writing, and Alan Alda was brilliant. All of the cast was memorable. A story worth watching from beginning to end.

All in the Family

For speaking in the language of it's time, being offensive and giving so many so much to think about.

Barney Miller

For a great mix of regular guys doing their jobs.

Homicide Life on the Streets

For a great drama, with stinging storylines.

Seinfeld

For memorable lines recognized around the world.

Star Trek

For providing a needed break from the here and now.

great question. Not manhy.

What mayters is having a moral-ethical central character instead of a loser, artistry through suggestion not graphi depcitions and blatancy, and intelligence, variety in story lines.

The best half-hours, that will last, have been the old "Northwest Passage", "To the Manor Born" and "The Tall Man".

The best hours have been "The Eleventh Hour", "Star Trek TOS", "I Spy" and "The Untouchables".

Dancing with the stars.
Because it is truly entire family entertainment.
It has something for everyone and every season it gets more popular. It reminds me of Sat Night Fever in the 70's or Dance Fever in the late70's early 80's.
It is so glamorous and sophisticated.
With shows like South Park, The Simpson's and
Cave Men on the air. It is time America got a little culture and class delivered to our homes once a week.

a Britcom: "As Time Goes By" with Judy Dench and Geoffry Palmer. Some of the best writing/acting I've ever seen on TV.

The simpsons - it was the first of its kind and the creators have been able to keep up with the time
South park - Another first of its time, ( tell me one other tv show that makes fun of cancer and is able to get away with it )
Friends - A classic
Eastenders

Seinfeld. Everybody could relate to the humor about "nothing" - the little things in life that bother us, but nobody thinks to talk about. Great chemistry among the actors, lasting catch phrases (man hands, "master of my domain", bubble boy, etc.) It was unique.

MASH
The liberal take on a conservative war/police action. This is classic confrontation with great characters. The topic is probably more relevant today than ever.
