Special and General relativity modifies Newton's laws and those are the factors at play in the universe.

Newton's laws only cover smaller body problems at low speeds. As things speed up, things change. Newton never took a QUASAR into account, because they were not known!

newtons laws explained motions here on earth, at the same time people we're trying to figure out what when on in space.

over time, people applied newtons laws to space and found it worked as well.

at that point Newtonian laws worked on earth and in space, thusly "connecting" the two in what they shared ---- the laws.
