The frantic blood thirsty a hole above me is talking out of his A.rse.
Killing for sport is awful.
I am proud to say in front of everyone on here that I am and will remain a hunt saboteur for as long as it takes, that along with other activities which involve protecting the innocent against cruelty, and that means not just animals.
It was not just the fox that we tried to protect, we tried to protect all the wildlife that the hounds went for, even domestic pets. The hounds ripped apart badgers, rabbits, small deer, cats, not the fault of the hounds but those nasty vicious huntsman and the equally cowardly terrior men who followed them. The hounds were mistreated, the horses were mistreated, often cut and bloody and whipped. Killing for a sport as is as low as it gets.
I cant even begin to tell what I have seen. What I have experienced and what harm I have come to against these vile spitefull pigs that kill animals for fun.

When two adults box you prat they have both made the decision to box, like in rugby, like in football, did the animals decide they would go out with a bunch of knobheads, get whipped and beaten, or torn apart for fun, I dont think so.
If anyone is a moron it is you, look at the state of you already, salivating over this question, your eyes popping with rage you sad sick bas.tard.
Hunting for sport with hounds is finished and it will never come back and everytime you lot go out, I will be there, watching you, reporting you and making sure you adher to the law, NO MATTER WHAT DO YOU TO ME. You think you can whip, run your horses at me and spit and call me scum, but I tell you what, the wildlife does not belong to people who live in the countryside, it belongs to no one, so if a townie takes you on for being nothing more than a blood thirsty loser, get used to it, we are not going anywhere..

No, I have never participated.
Yes, I believe they should be banned.
I believe that self defence would be the only excuse for killing ...full stop.
However as a last resort...if there was nothing else available to eat to sustain life ....then hunting for food would probably have to happen.
How anyone could enjoy killing an animal for "fun" is beyond me. How cruel are these people.
However it is possible that I too could be thought of as cruel....You see I could quite easily condone bloodsport if the hunters and the hunted were the very people who now dress to kill animals and call it sport. Then it could be called a sport as both hunters and hunted would understand the rules and being the bloodthirsty crowd that they are both sides would be armed and they could shoot at each other.
Sorry, but so called bloodsport brings out the worst in me.

Bit of an oxymoron there; blood and sport. Blood denotes murder/slaughter; sport denotes fair play. As far as shooting stags and rabbits, it depends on the population of the animals and the condition of the hunt. I know guys who do hunt and they go out to the woods or wherever and hunt. What I object to are the canned hunts mostly in TX where rich jerks pay big bucks to slaughter exotic animals such as lions and tigers in a small confined space; that is not hunting, it is shooting fish in a barrel. They acquire the animals from zoos and from bounty hunters. One man I met actually went hunting polar bears from a helicopter!!!
I think the canned hunts the seal hunts the whale hunts and all other inhumane hunts should definitely be banned. Although I would support hunting the hunters who participate in these slaughters!

I live in the country and pheasant shooting is big business here. Its barbaric in the extreme...clueless wannabe hunters on a day trip probably paid for by their employers, shoot and maim thousands of birds in a season, the lucky ones get killed instantly.
These birds are hand reared and not afraid of humans...that is until the beaters scare them into flight and the trigger happy businessman starts playing his death game.
Fox hunting still continues and culling deer? oh yes i forgot...lets encourage them to breed just so we can have fun killing them!
killing wild animals isn't a sport...a sport is where all participants know the rules of the game and all participants start with an equal chance of winning....somehow bloodsports don't fit this definition at all!

It should definitely be banned. I saw an incident many years ago that I still think of now and again. I watched the quorn hunt chasing a fox, and the hounds cornered the fox in a farmyard. The fox had hidden in an old hollow tre. The hunt put a hound in to flush the fox out, and as the fox poked his snout out of the trunk, one of the huntsman chopped it off with a garden spade. Then held the poor Fox up and while it was still alive, cut of his tail and threw it to the other huntsman. He then threw the poor fox to the hounds who just tore it to pieces. They were just acting as animals. We are the only species that kill for sport.

I utterly detest them and think they should all be banned! I cannot understand the mentality of these people! It upsets me so much....... It's one of the reasons I so despise the Royal family, they should set an example but they have the audacity to be linked with animal charities!!! I would never trust a person who could do this to an innocent animal and act like it is their given right! Maybe one day they will meet the same fate...

I don't agree with hunting wild animals for sport. I wouldn't say it should be banned though. It's a terrible thing to think of animals being killed for fun but then again they have more of a chance of getting away than if they are cows bred for food. If you ban animal hunting then the next thing to go will be killing of animals altogether. I'm torn between the cruelty and a steak sandwich to be honest.

Yes I have participated when a lot younger. No I do not like them. BUT I think it should be down to personal choice. I don't like people minding my moral conscience and I am not about to mind someone else's. There are many, many other issues in this world that disturb me far more. Boxing is one I would start with. Control freaks in government for another.

No I have never participated but sadly as I am from the country I have seen it and yes it's every bit as cruel as it looks on TV.
Hunting, angling and shooting are all cruel and must all be stopped.
Please don't make the mistake of thinking that everyone from country areas thinks like Chris H who answered earlier.

I think it is a sad reflection on humanity than in 2007, we still have people who are amused by killing animals for fun. It probably goes a long way to explaining why the world is so rife with war and violence.
