Should I use a single or double point dart...?

Question

To tailor a t-shirt? It's too big for me, so I want to take it in at the waist. Do I use a single or double point dart? Thank you!

I would use 4 doubles. 2 in front and 2 in back. A double will release the fabric at the bottom so it will flare back out again.
