Oh and how can someone be jealous of Ohio State didnt they just get pasted a few months back by Florida. Trust me that team was more talented than this one.
Don't know about the speed thing but it seems players from the south are playing against higher caliber players regularly. That doesn't mean they are naturally faster or better but that high school teams down in Texas, Florida, Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia and other southern states put more into their football programs.
As far as Ohio State, many people criticize the BCS, but it usually goes pretty close to putting the 2 best teams in the
final. So, that being said it will be settled on the field who is the best team. Subjest to the human weaknesses inherent in the BCS system.

I just love the "Ohio State wouldn't beat (insert team name here)". Give it a rest, your predictions do nothing but make you look foolish. Sure, maybe Ohio State would lose some of those games, same as LSU, Florida, USC have lost while getting upset. Then again, maybe they would win most of those games. As I recall 5 years ago noone gave Ohio State a chance against Miami...
As for the "OSU has played an easy schedule", the argument's gotten old and really and truly has no merit. Every powerhouse team schedules cupcakes and each of the SEC teams HAS this year. I've named a few in a previous question. Come up with something better. Not only that but the Big Ten is far more competitive than was thought at first glance. Illinois, Indiana, Mich St are all looking pretty good as they knock off, or come close to, the "better" teams.
Oh, and quit gloating about Ohio State's #1 ranking.

Media hates the Big 10? That could be true this year, but it wasn't so long ago every media mouthpiece was crying for an all Big 10 championship game. The media is just licking their wounds following the beat down Florida put on O-H-I-O, and USC put on Michigan.
It's fairly silly to say the Big 10 is a horrible conference. I think Big 10 is only second to the SEC in the number of people in the NFL. Florida being faster than Ohio? SEC being faster than Big 10? Obviously part demographics, part stress on athletics, particularly football. Better question, why is it that a state the size of Ohio can only field one decent football team while Florida fields at least two, sometimes three?

ok. here's what everyone's problem is. No matter who is ranked #1 all the other fans are going to have something bad to say. Ohio State has been doing very well for many years now. If people haven't noticed this season, OSU may play some "cupcake" teams, but after the first or second quarter, their second and third strings go in and finish the game. They have still dominated every team they have played. I don't think we've even seen them play to their full ability. And like I have said tons of times, these "cupcake" teams are the ones that have been taking down a lot of these high ranked teams. When a high ranked team can't dominate a "cupcake" team, they don't deserve to be ranked so high. Ohio has killed every team so far. IF they keep it up, they deserve to be in the top spot 100%. Everyone is going to say crap about all the high ranked teams. Probably b/c their team was up there yesterday, or last week, and lost.

I am a huge Wisconsin Badgers fan, but, 2 or 3 weeks ago, even before teams like USC, Florida or now LSU lost, I was declaring that Ohio State was the best team in the country. That game against Washington convinced me of that. Down 7-3 at the half, Ohio State made adjustments at halftime that were so overwhelming, I actually thought somebody had stolen Washington's play book ang gave it to the Buckeyes. Ohio State, as you know, blew Washington out. The following week, USC barely survived Washington. As far as what some of the coaches think, or who is faster than the others, who cares? Buckeyes unanimous number 1 anyway.

I respect Ohio State even though I am not a fan of them. Everybody wants there team to be #1, so they're going to be jealous of whoever is #1 at the time not just Ohio State. I think if there are more people who tend to hate Ohio State its because they've been at or near the top for a very long time now, and everybody likes an underdog get there once in a while.

The poster already says "I would think the coaches know more than the idiots posting about their favorite SEC and PAC-10 teams, all who have lost to teams worse than some of the cupcakes that OSU has beaten up on." so I think people should just not say they have not played anybody. Michigan played Appalachian State and lost. Other big teams play the cupcake teams also, it is not just OSU. I think people are just plain biased. All I have to say beyond that is HANG ON SLOOPY AND O-H-I-O, GO BUCKEYES!

I don't think people are "jealous" of Ohio State. Some people just do not think they shouldn't be #1. The BSC is rarely fair regardless of who is #1. Going by logic, which we all know is not used in NCAA football, shouldn't Kentucky be ranked higher than LSU since they beat LSU? I don't root for any of the teams I just mentioned (I root for Florida State), so I feel that my opinion is unbiased. If Ohio State stays at #1 all year, they can prove (or not prove) that they deserve it by winning the title game. Whatever anyone says is opinion until they play the games.

No one is Jealous of Ohio State, Everyone just think's Ohio State does not play any good teams and why should they be ranked #1. Same as BC and South Florida, Why should they be 2 and 3 they don't have a tough schedule. But all and all this is why we should have playoffs in College Football. I do think Ohio State deserves to be #1 but I think if they played LSU and West Virgina and Kentucky. They would lose to them all. So why is it fair that LSU has a tough schedule and Ohio State doesn't?

It's not that everybody hates Ohio State, it's that the Big 10 has been revealed as a soft conference, remember last season when Ohio State and Michigan played each other, both going in undefeated, Ohio State won a nail biter, but both teams got destroyed in their Bowl games. USC blew out Michigan and Florida destroyed Ohio State.
But the polls are correct, Ohio State is undefeated right now, if they run the table, they deserve their respective ranking.
