I know someone who named their child Charlie Brown. The kid wasn't happy about it when he grew up!

No not really, we spent a lot of time picking out names and have been happy. I did change a name we had picked as soon as I gave birth though. With our second child though I did change the name we had picked the moment I saw the doctor lift him up. I said he doesn't look like a Corey, he looks like a Tyler. Our doctor said what does a Corey look like? And I said I don't know but he is not a Corey. Tyler wasn't even on our list, but the moment I saw him I knew that is what we had to call him. LOL. With our other children I stuck with the name we picked. I've been happy with all the names of our kids and they seem to like them too...
If you regret the name, you can always apply to change it. I would call the birth record office for your area and see what they say every state has a different process.
You could always call your child by a nickname if changing it is not an option.

No because my children have traditional names. I think some parents get carried away by making up names and later regret that they named their child what they did. A prime example was a first grade little boy in an urban school who his mother called Shaaheed but spelled the name Shithead. This is a true fact and he was in my sisters class.

I hope those people who name their kids after food, clothing or something that sounds like a comic book character do. (Example: Apple, Denim or Moxie Crimefighter). It's likely that the folks who give their kids names like these do not regret it. Sad huh?

I used to work with a lady who named her son Jose, after her husband, but then they got divorced and she regretted it. She tried to have his name changed to Joseph but the courts wouldn't let her so she just had everyone call him Jospeh.

He'll grow into it, or you can go to your county courthouse and petition to have it changed, or why not give him the name you like as a nickname? You can always explain to him later why you call him/her something other than what is on the birth certificate...
