Hide them in a backpack or in a book cover or something like that.

But, don't worry, your talking to the girl who once dropped a pad right in front of my crush's face!! I've been there!

Everyone else has already answered your question but as for the guys. Forget them. Believe me. If they start seeing your tampons then thats just great for them. There's not really much that they can say about the fact that you use them. The only jokes I've heard about girls using tampons is if they're using the ultra small ones or super sized ones. You can probably guess why. And besides if these guys have your locker combo then you SHOULD be able to trust them to not go around saying stuff and bothering you.
Anyway, carry a purse or get some compact tampons if it bothers you that much. How often you change depends on how heavy your period is. Get playtex sport for swimming.

Tampons are small...carry them in your purse or backpack, and see what you can do about getting your combination changed.

As for how often you'll need to change, well that will depend upon how heavy your flow is and what size tampon you're using. I would recommend starting with a Regular and checking it every 3-4 hours. Also for the first couple of months, wear a pantyliner during your period just in case you should get some leakage.

Tampons should be changed every 6-8 hours. Can you carry a purse or backpack and keep the tampons in there? If not, how about a pencil case? Or can you get a makeup bag and leave that in your locker, the boys probably wouldn't look through that.

ok well what ever size best fits you and during different days the flow will be heavy or it will be light. So you should get different sizes and wear them when you feal you need to. for example on heavy flows where the bigger kind and you should change it every few hours or it will leak through and cause a BIG mess. trust me and do you carry a purse?if nothing else you can stick a few into a side pocket in your purse.but dont worry pick a size you feel comfortable in and that goes for both tampons and pads

i would try getting some compact tampons. they are really small and can fit in most pockets.
youre supposed to change them every 8 hours, but it depends on how heavy your period is..
as for swimming and running, playtex sport work really well bc they are made especially for active girls.

and dont worry about the guys finding them. if they are mature, they wont care. if they laugh, then you should laugh at their immaturity.

seriously. if they think u any differently bc of it, than they have issues. every girl gets it, its normal.

if they spread rumors about you or make fun, just shake it off. there are worse things in life to worry about.

You should try using pads instead of tampons for the first year of your period. But if you're set on tampons, change it every 4 hours.
Keep them in a zip - up make up bag and tuck it away in your locker or keep one in your backpack.
Better yet, change your locker combination.
And you wont die if they find them, you'll laugh it off. These boys have moms (maybe sisters) who have periods. And there are commercials on tv. Its a part of life and they know it.
