I am looking to get into college after high school. I was wondering if you thought that I was on the right track for getting into any college that I want. Last year I passed all of my classes with high honors.
Freshman year I took:
- English 9 (honors component)[sem]
- Lab Earth Science[sem]
- Health[qtr]
- Gym[qtr]
- Freshman Focus[sem] (this is a class to get us used to being in high school)
- Chorus[sem]
- Honors Geometry[sem]
- Keyboarding[qtr]
- Computer Apps.[qtr]
- Global Village[sem]
This year I am taking:
- gym[qtr]
- art 1[qtr]
- Lab Biology[sem]
- Spanish 1 [sem]
- Honors English 10[sem]
- Spanish 2[sem]
- Foods for Wellness[qtr]
- Culinary Arts[qtr]
- Honors Algebra 2[sem]
- U.S. History[sem]
Do you think I am on the right track to get into any college that I want? Tips and suggestions would be gladly accepted. I can change anything scheduled for next semester.

Foods for wellness and keyboarding are not required, but limited classes are offered at my school, so fining a class to replace it would be tough. Do you have any suggestions?

Sounds good.
Go for Trig and Spanish 3+4 in Junior year
If offered go for Economics, AP Civics, Pre Calculus or Calculus and Statistics.
Math Chemistry or Physics with lab.
You might want to explore the college newspaper, radio station or if they do it TV production station as arts/civic related extra cirricular for one semester at least. The high school year book as well.
Now you can cover any major in college.
Be aware not all courses will transfer out side your state to a College or University, but they will give you background that will be invaluable for the college level course.
Almost every University in the US accepts 2 years of high school langauge (most state colleges have dropped the langauge requirement, but all of the private ones want it).
If you have time and ultra good grades you might want to do voluenteer or 4-4-4-4 work experience in a field that you might consider related to your potential major. Maybe get a letter of recomendation if the company is a major one.

Honestly, I think you need more rigor in the courses you take. If you really want to be able to go anywhere, like an elite school, you have a lot of courses which, unless they are absolute requirements, look a little fluffy, like culinary arts, foods for wellness, keyboarding, etc. Top colleges absolutely look at grades, but they also want to make sure that you are taking a rigorous schedule, and too many of these sorts of courses can eliminate you from consideration.

As for classes just double check with your school they will be able to tell you. Some colleges will waive your foreign language classes if you take 3 years, so that might be helpful for you to keep taking Spanish.
As for getting in to the college the grades are important, but what I think schools also focus on is they want a rounded individual. They want someone that is involved in different activities and clubs. Also community service is important.

you have a good commence. attempt to stay lively on your community. Volunteering is a super way. in the journey that your intense college gives you progressed Placement instructions or sped up instructions, take as many as you could. they seem good on your utility, and that they help convey your GPA up larger. in case you have a pastime like band or a interest, attempt out for the intense team. those seem good too. additionally, attempt to be a pacesetter at school. circulate out for pupil council or classification consultant.
