I'm interested in completing a Psychology PhD studentship in the USA (my qualifications and experience are loosely outlined in my profile). I basically want to know where i may find Fully-funded PhD studentships advertised on the internet? We have websites like jobs.ac.uk to find academic/science jobs/stduentships in the UK, is there a similar site for the U.S?

I'd appreciate any useful advice.

Cheers

There were very few fully funded psychology graduate positions when I went to graduate school. I think the best approach would be to try to contact individual professors and researchers. Their colleges and Universities are listed in the research paper. I would select research that you are interested in, because researchers usually fund their students through grants. Another place to look is the awarding of NIH (National Institute of Health) grants and look for people who have long term grants - those researchers would be funding students over the long term. Right now, there might be money developing to research Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder among returning veterans. I myself worked to get through school. I was funded for only two years, only only one of those years was funding for research, the other was as a teaching assistant. Good luck.

I study at the University of Northern Iowa. I think that ranks about 25 in the USA. If I could go somewhere else, I would go to the University of Wisconsin at Madison.
