8/x = 12/(2x-1) is this the problem?
Then
x/8 = (2x-1)/12
multiply by 24
3x = 2(2x-1)
3x = 4x - 2
2 = x
check
8/2 = 12/(4-1)
4 = 4 checks

Or is this the problem
8/x = 12/2x -1
multiply each term by 2x
16 = 12 - 2x
4 = -2x
-2 = x
check
8/-2 = 12/-4 -1
-4 = -3 -1 checks

6/(4x-3) = 5/(x+1) is this the problem?
cross multiply
6(x+1) = 5(4x-3)
6x + 6 = 20x - 15
21 = 14x
1.5 = x
check
6/(4*1.5 -3) = 5/(1.5 + 1)
6/3 = 5/2.5
2 = 2 checks

Or is the problem this?
6/4x -3 = 5/x + 1
mutliply all terms by 4x
6 - 12x = 20 + 4x
14 = 16x
7/8 = x

Get Rid of the fractions! How? Multiply each side by the denominators. After you get done cross-cacelling, you'll end up with
6(x+1)=5(4x-3) Distribute them out
6x+6=20x-15 Get the x's on one side and the numbers on the other:
6+15=20x-6x Solve for x
I'll let you do that part

Just cross multiply, so it would be
12x = 8(2x-1)
16x-8=12x
4x=8
x=2

Same thing for the second problem; just multiply 4x-3 and 5 and set it equal to 6*x+1
The answer is 3/2

possibly. or you ought to replace the three into 6/2 and subtract that from the two aspects and then divide the two aspects by using -7 to unravel for x -- distribute the a million/2 to the 12x and the two. then combine like words. and resolve for x
