i heard that on saturay and i was just wondering if it was true.

It is neither a bear nor a raccoon, although closer to the latter. Pandas are in the family Aeloropidae. Bears are in the family Ursidae. Raccoons are in the family Procyonidae. All are in the order Carnivora.

No. You can find more information about them at the San Diego Zoo and the National Zoo.
On a stuffed panda I bought at the San Diego Zoo, it says that the panda is a catlike mammal.
It is part of the bear family from what I've read on the internet.

No. The Giant panda relates more to the bear family (discovered through genetic testing rather than just looking at it) than the raccoon family.
