I have been working on a cookbook for awhile now. All the recipes the kids phone and ask about, and their favourites. You can scan and put photos next to the recipes - one of your daughter mixing up the cake for the recipe or whatever.
I have also used colourful graphics from the internet of funny chefs, bistro cafes, food - each page has some kind of graphic
Then slide the pages into those plastic sheets and make a binder or even take it to your office supply store and have it "bound" with those coil things.
Anyhow this is what I am doing, and I hope it will be passed onto grandchildren too --

The idea is to make a cookbook of the all those recipes your kids phone and ask "mom how did you make that?" and their favourites. Not asking for recipes or photos, but thanks for the offer. I think of how much I would like to have a cookbook made by my grandmother and photos of her in the kitchen, I have one of her pouring tea for two ladies and I am going to have it scanned and put into my "cook book" too. You need a word processor with a text wrap feature so you can insert the photos in the text -

That is a great idea isotope! We forget sometimes that recipes have little adjustments that we take for granted and if it isn't written down somewhere, they could be lost forever. I have a book my grandmother wrote out by hand with many of her recipes that she brought over from England when they emigrated .I make her "Hot Pot" for my family and it tastes like it did when I was a child .

What a really neat idea!
I have my Mom's original, some hand written, recipes. This would be a great gift to someone in my family. Though, I would have to put names in a hat and pick one to decide who gets it. Then the others would be upset.
Any more ideas? I have three grandsons!

I did something similar for my daughter when she got married. I also asked other family members to find good, easy recipes to donate to the book. Each recipe had the name of the person who donated the recipe. I did mine on the cheap, but she still has it and who knows.... maybe she uses it! I also included some helpful tips and conversions. Good luck to you in your project! Will you be selling any copies? I would love to purchase one!

Are you asking for recipes & photos? Because I'd be happy to send you both. (I'm in S FL so there is no "winter" here as I used to know it up north)
