Can you relay a message to David Ortiz and Manny Ramirez for me?

Question

Message: When you hit the ball, please run full speed to first base. If its a groundball, the infielder could bobble it. If it's a flyball, the outfielder could drop it. There is always a chance to get to first base, but you have to RUN!!!

Can somebody please get this message into the Red Sox dugout? It could make the difference between winning and losing.

Apparently you missed David Ortiz beat out a double play ball that would've ended the inning. Then Manny proceeded to tie it up with a 2-run HR, followed by Mike Lowell putting the Sox up 1.

I think David Ortiz has a problem with his knee and Manny Ramirez has been banged up this year. They pick their spots when they slow down running to first base but when the game is on the line they run full speed. Would you rather them running hard on some meaningless ground ball and pop a hamstring? Then they will be out all postseason and the Sox will be done.

It's not just Ortiz and Ramirez you can throw in many other "so called" superstars as well. Thank goodness for Ichiro who plays the game the way it should be played.

You are right about Ortiz beating out that DP, BUT, he's talking about the whole game, if Ortiz would have ran to first on that last one, they would have more than likely won the game

You could tell Papi was upset with that one. He totally could have made it to first had he ran full speed right off the bat. =/
