I never understood why it's wrong to put your hand in the cookie jar. If you're not supposed to eat cookies, why did someone bake them?.
If you're not supposed to keep them in a jar, then put them in something else.

Hey mom want a cookie? I wanted to get one for you. I was going to make you this BIG lunch (or dinner or breakfast) buffet. I was trying to get the cookie for the finishing touch of the dessert, but then you caught me and now it's not going to be a surprise! It was supposed to be a surprise. Darn!

Yes, I ate the DOVE chocolate chip/walnut cookies-coated w/milk chocolate-ummmmm!- the whole pack of 4 cookies, when I let my neighbors dogs out to the bathroom last night.
She's a Diabetic and doesn't need them, so I was helping her.
